One Mustang family is out thousands of dollars after a theft from their driveway on Thursday.

Darlene Roles said someone stole a trailer carrying a new mattress around 1 p.m. Thursday, less than an hour after it had been delivered to her house in the Quail Lake Estates neighborhood near SW 59th Street.

The trailer and mattress are worth more than $10,000, Roles said.

She said neighbors spotted the car in different areas of the neighborhood before the theft.

“I think they were just waiting for me to leave. They had been hanging around in the neighborhood,” she said.

Home security cameras captured one male suspect who knocked on Roles’ door before driving away with the trailer. Roles is asking the public to help identify him.

A silver pickup was spotted hauling away the trailer and the mattress shortly after someone knocked on Roles’ door.

Mustang police confirmed they took a report on the incident and are accepting information about who may have been involved.

For now, Roles said the entire neighborhood is on high alert.

“Everyone is definitely on the lookout now,” she said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mustang Police Department at 405-376-2488.
